I live in Arizona and the unemployment rate here is $240.00 before federal and state taxes. You are then left with $214.00. I was wondering how does nutrition assistance aka food stamps work? Do you receive a check, or a debit card?
The first thing you should do is go to the website, and use the screening tool to see if you might qualify: https://www.azdes.gov/variant.aspx?id=5199
You can view the formula for eligibility requirements by visiting: https://www.azdes.gov/main.aspx?menu=355&id=5202
You receive a card that contains your Nutrition assistance on it. The card works like an ATM or Debit card at grocery stores and other places where EBT is accepted. The card is a QUEST Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that is issued to the receiptant by JP Morgan. Sometimes they send you a card, and then later you learn that you are ineligible, it’s the way their system works.

I was told that in four years of medical school, the average doctor only takes one class on nutrition. Is that about accurate?
Be careful with stuff like that where you hear those things. Medical schools have slightly different ways of presenting the body of information that a physician needs to master, i.e. different ways of teaching. Often matters about Nutrition may be introduced in a course that’s not called by that name, but so long as that information is supplied, that’s the key.
Medical curricula are always looking for shortcomings, and most MD schools do a fine job at filling in any holes (real or perceived) in their respective curricula. Nutrition, is, indeed on of the areas thats getting more and more highly integrated into curricula at most schools.
Many medical schools don’t have traditional courses like in undergrad, but use a different model for introducing information, e.g. Harvard and such, so it’s tough to give you a number that’s accurate or that represents the reality of what you want to know.

I want to get a degree in holistic nutrition, but the only colleges that show up in my searches are schools like DeVry and the university of Phoenix. Where can I obtain a credible degree in this field?
None. Even the work "holistic" is mostly used by crackpot altmed enthusiasts.
If you want a REAL degree in Nutritiona>/dietetics, attend a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.

I’m trying to find the best way to teach my kids about good Nutrition, since I didn’t learn much as a child.
I never received any nutrition information growing up. Luckily I’m the type of person that likes to get answers to all her questions so I do a lot of research.

I love mushrooms and my wife is moving us toward a diet with less meat and dairy (per her research on Nutrition including having read The China Study), so I thought it would be fun to cultivate mushrooms. Maybe Shiitake and Portablella but before we choose which, I would like help in determining which have the most health benefits (including if you cook them do you remove their benefits) and which you can grow on your own.
try these:

I don’t have an educational background in nutrition, but would like to explore a marketing career involving nutrition/wellness. Do you have any suggestions for careers/companies to explore?
Speaking as a Marketing Major myself, I say it would depend upon your marketing concentration (Most community colleges offer basic Nutrition classes which would give you more information on that side). So if you are into Sales, then I would try a whole foods distributor. If you are into promotions then I would say a place like the food and drug administration. If you are interested in a particular food item like Milk, I’d try the dairy counsel. It all just really depends upon where your interests lie.

I entered this poster making slogan contest at school and I really need help with the slogan part. The theme is "Proper Nutrition is Needed, Lifestyle Diseases’ Prevention" or something like that. The rules also states that the slogan must be composed of 4-10 words excluding articles. Please help me!
Eat right, Live strong.

I have been looking into Wright State University, Sinclair Community College, and University of Dayton. But i have had trouble finding a major that Nutrition would fall under. Thanks for your help!
Actually, U.Dayton offers a degree in dietetics. If that does not work for you, try OSU, Ball State, or U. Cincinnati.
