I’m on Sulfameth/Trimethoprim & will be in WDW in FL soon. What can I do about Sun exposure warning?
I’ve got 5 days in Orlando at Disney and Universal. I will be wearing a baseball cap and sunblock but I’m worried about the Sun Exposure warning on the bottle. Are there any additional precautions I can take?
Use SPF 30 or higher, ideally 50. Wear a hat, cover up as much as possible. Go in the shade as much as possible
How long for sun exposure with Speedball Diazo emulsion?
I will be taking Z pack how significant is the sun exposure warning?
I am a little worried that if I get out in the sun, I will get severely burned. Fair-skinned as it is; but need to get some sun. Any experience would be helpful from responders.
If you need to be out in the sun, I recommend a sunblock with at least a SPF 30 rating. Continue using it for 5 days after you’re finished taking the antibiotics.
What can be done to help an elderly person with very thin skin from years of sun exposure?
What can be done to help someone who has thin skin on their extremities due to years and years of sun exposure. This person bruises very easily due to the thin skin. Is there anything she can do to help keep her skin from getting injured so easily?
It may not be the years of Sun Exposure that is to blame. How much sun is she getting now? Generally, anti-oxidants such as E and C can reverse damage as well as protect from damage. If she is getting enough anti-oxidants and vitamins, then I suggest making sure she is not getting poisons from her diet such as fluoride which is pervasive in the U.S. In the U.S. fluoride is in all prepared foods and in most municipal water supplies. It’s even in the bottled drinking water. The only substance I know that is not contaminated with it is distilled water.
Processed foods are cooked until their are so few nutrients that most have to add vitamin powders so that they have any nutrition at all. The result is that processed foods do not have the full range of vitamins that foods of 50 years ago had. Look on any package and you will see only 3 or 4 vitamins listed.
It may seem unappetizing, but the thing that most foods lack that are needed are enzymes. There is a high source of useful enzymes in bugs and worms. Whether you mix them into a smoothie to eat or mash them into a skin balm is up to you, but I personally believe that there is a fountain of youth in bugs and worms.
Another source of relief comes from MSM, a sulfur rich compound available as a pill.
You can also get it from eating lots of garlic and/or onion. It helps rebuild the collagen and elastin in your skin that is spongy and elastic which will make the skin thicker and less prone to bruising.
Here is some advice from a website I found, listed in my source:
"
Nourish and care for your skin. Daily exfoliation can help to remove dead skin cells and increase skin circulation. A hot bath with sea salts and minerals can improve skin tone. Skin tightening creams with herbal formulas and ingredients such as aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, yeast extract, soy protein, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin A can help to hydrate and increase collagen and elastin formation in skin.
Stay away from harsh detergents, such a sulfates in soaps, shampoos and dishwashing liquids, limit your sun exposure and stay away from tanning booths, and limit your exposure to hot and chlorinated water—all of these things will decrease skin elasticity. Quick and dirty tip: If you swim for fitness, use soap and shampoos that are specially designed to remove chlorine.
"
I don’t know why this advice seems to contradict itself, saying at first that a hot bath is good then in the last paragraph warning to avoid hot water. I guess what they mean is a warm mineral bath is good but scalding water should be avoided. If one has control over the swimming pool, then using sea salt instead of chlorine would be best.
How long does it take for prolonged sun exposure to start bleaching hair?
How long does it take for prolonged Sun Exposure to start bleaching hair?
I am not going on holiday or anything, I was just curious as to how long it takes for the sun to start bleaching the hair and does it depend on what type of skin colour/ hair colour you have. What are some of the differences in between exposure( differences) between the length of time for each skin/ hair tone?
Thanks in advance, curious sun-cautious person
it basically depends on what colour skin you have and what type your hair is.. natural colourrrr etc. someone who has virgin hair (hair that hasnt been chemically changed. dye etc) wont take as long then somebody with dyed hair and stuff. length doesnt matter

How long can my 4 month old be at the beach safely? Sun exposure, etc.?
We are taking a trip to hawaii for a week and I have a 5 year old and a 4 month old, what should I do to keep him protected, what spf sunscreen do you recommend? I figured a big beach umbrella, hat on his head and sun screen would be good, in hawaii its usually mid 80’s or so. How long can he be outside for at a time? Thanks!
I’ve been told that you’re not supposed to put sunscreen on a baby younger than 6 months. However, I’ve been putting sunscreen on my child when we go out in the sun ever since he was born. I’d rather not risk him getting sunburned. That’d make for one miserable baby.
As long as you keep him in the shade, well sunscreened (baby sunscreen – they have little blanket aplicators for it, too, which are great for young children), and keep him hydrated there shouldn’t be any problems. Keep him out as long as you want, just make sure he’s comfortable.
Have fun in hawaii!!
